Now is the time that people are buying gifts, sending out Christmas cards, and donating to organizations in their community. We were in search of an organization that was doing something unique this holiday season, and we found a United Way doing just that.
United Way of the Lower Mainland (Burnaby, BC)has a Web site called “Imagine – United Way Gift Catalogue,” in which community members can choose a gift from the categories of child poverty, bullying, seniors isolation, and strong communities, ranging from $5 to $1,500, and pick a card to send to a family member or friend that explains that a donation was made to United Way on their behalf and details the selected gift. The gift represents programs and activities that will be funded by the donation received.
We wanted to share this great example with you and encourage your United Way to do something unique and creative to get your community members involved this holiday season. Provide your community with a fun and simple way to make an impact in your community.
